Precise measurement data for wastewater using transit time difference measurement
The LDM with a nominal width of 500 mm enables the precise and reliable measurement of the flow rate, even at low levels, in the supplied size from 37.9 mm. Flow measurement is carried out with maximum accuracy using ten flow speed measuring sections distributed over the entire cross-section. These are based on the robust and contamination-resistant ultrasonic transit time difference measuring method.
The LDM system is easy to configure via the web interface or directly via the touch panel integrated into the transmitter.
The touch panel provides the system operator with all operating data such as meter readings, status displays, etc. The signal quality of each individual measuring head can also be monitored. The signal quality of each individual measurement path is also recorded and displayed.
Contamination report reduces cleaning work
With the transit time difference method, the different transit times of ultrasonic measurement signals in the direction of flow and against the direction of flow of the medium are analysed, whereby the signal quality power is automatically increased in the event of contamination. If the transmission power exceeds a certain level, system cleaning is requested via the interface before measurement errors occur.
Easy installation and commissioning
The installation and commissioning of the measuring point was simple, as the system was screwed into the pipework in a time-saving manner using prepared tie rods and the sensors had already been calibrated in STEBATEC’s in-house hydraulic laboratory.
The robust and contamination-resistant system, which also has excellent properties against abrasion, minimises maintenance and service costs. There is ample service access in the immediate vicinity of the measuring point for any maintenance work that may be required.
About the Water Protection Association region Zug
In the catchment area of the Water Protection Association Region Zug, to which 17 municipalities belong, a sewer network with around 85 km of collecting sewers, 22 pumping stations and 12 stormwater overflow basins was built.
The Schönau WWTP and the association’s pipe network with the outdoor facilities are managed by a 26-strong team.
