Autarkic clamp-on flow measurement
Low installation costs
When setting up new flow measuring points in a drinking water supply network, it is often not the measuring instrument that is the main cost factor, but rather the installation effort (supply interruption, pipe work, power supply, flushing of the pipe, etc.). The installation of the autarkic Clamp-on flow meter does not require any intervention in the pipeline and can also simply be installed underground if a shaft construction is not economical. This allows for the highly simple and cost-efficient installation of additional flow measurement points in a drinking water supply network.
No mains power connection necessary
The measuring station can be operated completely autonomously. The electrical installations are housed in a separate cabin, which ensures the power supply for the clamp-on sensors and the communication via the 3G/4G network. The solar panel, which is ideally mounted on a mast on top of the cabin, ensures the electrical supply of the installed elements.
If required, an additional battery can be delivered to ensure security of supply. The transmission of data to the customer’s periphery takes place via standardised communication protocols which are listed under the properties.
Drift-free flow measurement
The measuring instruments do not require any zero point calibration during installation and measure permanently without drift. This is absolutely unique on the market. Another great advantage lies in the ultrasonic transit time difference measuring method (measurement from as little as 0.01 m/s), which differs essentially from MID`s (Magnetic Inductive Flow Measurement, from 0.3 m/s) in that it can precisely detect even the lowest flow speeds.
Soil installation
The autarkic Clamp-on flow measurement is equipped with very robust mounting devices. Wide stainless steel straps ensure the secure and permanently stable attachment of the sensors, which are additionally protected by a robust stainless steel cover. The sensors themselves have an IP68 protection rating and have extra-reinforced connection cables. Their acoustic coupling is done using permanent coupling pads instead of coupling gel, which is subject to ageing and can also be washed away. All this ensures the long-term durability of the measuring system, which is suitable for installation in the shaft as well as directly in the ground.
Works on challenging pipes
The flow meters are available with different sensor types covering an inner diameter range from 25 mm to 6500 mm. The strength of the generated sound signals and sophisticated noise suppression allow the use on all pipe materials, even on such challenging ones as glass fibre reinforced plastic (GRP) pipes.
